Yogananda performed the burial rites for his Guru, Swami Sri Yukteswar. As he wrote in Autobiography of a Yogi,
I conducted the solemn rites on March 10th. Sri Yukteswar was buried with the ancient rituals of the swamis in the garden of his Puri ashram.
Swami Kriyananda met with Yogananda on this day, just five days before Yogananda’s Mahasamadhi (final passing). While they were alone together in the Master’s study, Yoganandaji gazed into his disciple’s eyes with deep love and said to him, “You have pleased me very much. I want you to know that.”

Self-Realization has come to unite all religions. . . . We must go on—not only those who are here, but thousands of youths must go North, South, East and West to cover the earth with little colonies, demonstrating that simplicity of living plus high thinking lead to the greatest happiness!”
